Yamaha Motor has defined its technology vision as “pursuing fun and solving societal issues to create a future for all.” We work to realize our corporate mission to be a kando-creating company through the pursuit of fun. We also provide solutions that solve societal issues while having fun. We work to create “a future for all” by combining our fundamental research, new core competencies, and existing core competencies for all stakeholders.

We have expressed our new Technology Vision and three images of the future that we want to realize.
Human-machine collaboration prioritizing human creativity adds an emotional quality to craftsmanship in automated manufacturing. Machines maximize our potential and help everyone to enjoy lively activities. The synergistic collaboration between people and machines enables the creation of new value.

Intelligent
Systems
- Machines and vehicles with greater automation and autonomy will lighten the burdens shouldered by people, while their attunement to human sensitivities will amplify the fun factor
- Vehicles, robots, and the like achieve automation and autonomy—being able to move and operate alongside people—by making independent judgments based on estimates and predictions of factors like the surrounding environment, human emotions, and a person’s physical positioning. Bringing automation and levels of autonomy to human mobility and workplaces can effectively free people from having to do rote or dangerous tasks and frees up time. Additionally, by providing forms of assistance that feel natural and in tune with human sensitivities, we will make what was only accessible to some easily available to many across a diverse range of environments.
We pursue Jin-Ki Kanno and Jin-ki Anzen with machines that move and work in sync with humans.
We utilize efficient, safe, and reliable AI technology to make our products and services intelligent.
Energy
Management
- We seek to achieve carbon neutrality through efficient allocation of diverse energy sources.
- Achieving carbon neutrality is a prerequisite for our pursuit of fun mobility, and to that end, we must come up with inventive ways to use energy in line with the needs of our customers around the world, the state of energy production and consumption in each country, as well as the standout features of our products. In addition to electrification, we will pursue efficient usage of other alternative energy sources, such as hydrogen, biofuels, and synthetic fuels.
We will also move to achieve optimal energy usage by cutting away energy losses at production sites, using renewable energy and hydrogen, developing innovative manufacturing and machining methods, and more. We will also aim to generate carbon credits.
We appropriately use different energy sources for different purposes, promote the three Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle), and provide new value of choice for customers in a world thus made more sustainable.
We promote electrified mobility and offer a range of products and services to meet diverse needs.

Human Research

An essential understanding of these makes it possible to unlock human potential and serve as a signpost for making people happier. The scope of human research is wide-ranging, encompassing everything from human cognition and behavior, social interaction, cultural contexts, and biological aspects to human growth and cultural development. We work on human research from a broad and multifaceted perspective and gain deeper insights into humans for new kando and a more fulfilling life.
