Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. and Shizuoka University Enter Partnership Agreement

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (President: Takashi Kajikawa; hereafter "the company") has today signed a Comprehensive Partnership Agreement with National University Corporation Shizuoka University (Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture; President: Naotaka Oki), a national university, with the aim of establishing an ongoing cooperative relationship.

The aim of the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement is encourage and support two-way cooperation between the company and Shizuoka University in the areas of advancement and development of science and technology, creation of new technologies and promoting their use in the society and the education and nurturing of human resources.
The duration of the agreement announced today is three years.

The main subjects for tie-ups and cooperation are:

Ⅰ Joint research projects
Ⅱ Information exchange meetings, technical seminars and joint research result presentations, etc.
Ⅲ Tie-ups and cooperation aimed at creating innovations
Ⅳ Tie-ups and cooperation for personnel exchanges and nurturing of human resources

Benefits of collaboration for the two parties include the following:

For the company:
	(1)	Stimulation for joint research, increased level and speed of technological development;
	(2)	Possibility for larger projects, for the company and the university alike;
	(3)	Opportunities to raise levels of knowledge and motivation of the company's researchers.

For Shizuoka University:
	(1)	Opportunities to contribute to the development of local industry through the results Increased educational and research motivation through increased understanding of the needs of industry and possibilities to apply technology;
	(2)	Opportunities for expansion into new research fields through joint projects.

Through this Comprehensive Partnership Agreement the company and Shizuoka University intend to establish a strong relationship of mutual trust and engage in active exchange at the grassroots level and nurture an atmosphere of partnership as we pursue many and varied possibilities of this collaboration.
