Additional Support to Areas Affected by the Niigata Chuetsu Earthquake

July 20, 2007

We at Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. have sent an additional relief supplies to disaster areas in the wake of the recent Niigata Chuetsu Earthquake.

We had already provided a first round of monetary donations and relief supplies to the damaged areas. When we contacted the Kashiwazaki City relief aid headquarters for an update, however, Kashiwazaki requested scooters to be used for communications and transportation for refuges and branch stations.

In response, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. and its domestic marketing subsidiary, Yamaha Motorcycle Sales Japan Co., Ltd. (YMSJ), jointly supplied 10 Yamaha-brand scooters to Kashiwazaki City on July 19.

We are hoping for the earliest possible recovery for the people of the Kashiwazaki area from the earthquake damage.
