Notice concerning the release from custody of Yamaha Motor employees and the summary indictment filed against Yamaha Motor

Today, three employees of Yamaha Motor, previously arrested by a joint task force of the Shizuoka and Fukuoka Prefecture Police Departments for the alleged violation of the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Law concerning the export of an unmanned, industrial-use helicopter, were released from custody. Meanwhile, a summary indictment was filed against Yamaha Motor.
Yamaha Motor expresses its relief regarding the decision by the Prosecutor's Office to release the three employees, and acquiesces to the filing of the summary indictment.
Yamaha Motor acknowledges the shortcomings of its export-control procedures, and will continue to strive to strengthen its export-control procedures under the direction of the security trade control operations the company established in May 2006. Furthermore, Yamaha Motor will unite all its resources and fully address the measures with which to regain the trust and confidence of the public, such as strengthening compliance regulations.
Yamaha Motor extends its deepest apologies to all its customers, clients, shareholders and all related parties for the concern and inconvenience caused by this issue.
