President Takashi Kajikawa's opening remarks at press conference on financial results

Thank you very much for coming today to hear about our financial results for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2005.

Before discussing the results, I would like to mention one thing. You may have heard that Yamaha Motor is under investigation regarding the export of industrial-use unmanned helicopters to China. I would like to apologize to stakeholders for any concerns this investigation may cause.

We are cooperating fully with investigators and are also looking into the matter internally. Please understand that we cannot answer any questions regarding this matter today since the investigation is still ongoing.

This does not mean that we refuse to give any explanation regarding the matter as some media have reported. But we feel that our duty now is to cooperate fully with investigators and monitor the progress of the investigation.

We have concluded that the best way to cooperate is to refrain from holding press conferences or issuing statements or explanations about the investigation at this time.

Therefore, we cannot answer any questions regarding this matter today. Thank you for your understanding.
