This model took the export spec model and rearranged it for the Japanese market in response to the domestic boom in trail riding popularity pioneered by the DT-1. It mounted a 2-stroke, 175cc engine with a single aluminum cylinder on a high-tensile steel pipe double cradle frame. With 125cc class lightness and powerful performance comparable to a 250cc class model, it could be ridden on expressways, allowing for an even wider range of use.
