Superior Door Closing Sound
Gives a statelier feeling by making the sound of closing doors quieter. This gives the impression such as luxury vehicle.
Performance Dampers absorb excess vibration from the chassis
- The sound of doors closing is quieter
- This instills a statelier feeling
The vehicle feels like it is a superior grade model
Test Method
We measured the difference in sound pressure with and without Performance Dampers by measuring sound around the ears 10 times when closing the doors under certain conditions.
- SamplingRate : 48 kHz
- FFT Line : 512 Line
- Overlap : 32
Test Results
Driver’s Seat Sound Pressure
Average of 10 measurements at peak frequency
Peak frequency | Without Performance Dampers | With Performance Dampers | Effects |
---|---|---|---|
2000Hz | 77.2dB | 76.4dB | ⊿0.8dB ⇒ 17% reduction in energy |
2200Hz | 77.3dB | 76.2dB | ⊿1.1dB ⇒ 22% reduction in energy |
Taking the average value of peaks from 10 measurements with and without Performance Dampers, we found that sound pressure was reduced by about 1 dB with Performance Dampers. This is approximately 20% energy reduction. Verification confirmed that the sound of doors closing definitely became quieter.
