            WTGP stands at the pinnacle of Yamaha Motor’s technician training program, YTA (Yamaha Motor Technical Academy). Only the best—those who have triumphed in rigorous national competitions—are selected from over 35,700 certified YTA technicians to compete. Participants are judged not only on advanced technical skills in engines and electronics, but also on their ability to understand customer concerns and deliver reassurance through meaningful communication. WTGP is a summit where the essence of Yamaha Motor’s service philosophy is put to the test.

WTGP challenges technicians to demonstrate their all-around capabilities across two major categories. The first is Fault Diagnosis—identifying hidden issues and performing repairs within a limited timeframe. The second is Customer Relations—listening with empathy, clearly explaining the situation and repairs, and creating a reassuring experience for the customer. Only those who excel in both skill and character can shine on this stage—true technicians in every sense.
Technical Skills
Using vehicles with pre-set faults, technicians compete in diagnosing, repairing, inspecting, and completing the full maintenance process. This tests not only their refined skills but also their composure under pressure—can they complete every step accurately within the time limit?
