Winner's comment

SPORTS MODEL CLASS WINNER

Liam Coffey (United Kingdom)

"It hasn't really sunk in yet, but it was great. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my wife and children. They supported me while I was away. And I’m also thankful to QBS Powersports, for giving me the time and support to take part in this competition. I’m grateful to Yamaha Motor UK and Yamaha Motor Europe as well.
My journey began 10 years ago. I couldn’t make it through my first UK Tech GP and kept trying again and again. Only the UK champion can advance to the European round. On my third attempt, I became the European champion, and now I’ve managed to win the WTGP title too.
There were a lot of cameras at WTGP, but during the competition, I was so focused on my work that I didn’t notice the cameras or the people around me.
I’m just happy that I can keep fixing Yamaha's."

COMMUTER MODEL CLASS WINNER

Juan Cruz Lunad Rocha (Argentina)

"I'm so happy. I'm so glad. This is incredible. I want to say thank you to Yamaha Motor for this opportunity. And I want to say thank you to Yamaha Motor Argentina. They are my family and MG Bikes (dealer name) members are my family too.
I called my daughter to tell her the news, but because of the time difference with Argentina, she was asleep when I called. And she said, "Congratulations, Daddy!". The WTGP was a very tough competition, but we always stayed focused on our goal. I believe this result is the culmination of our hard work.
What I want to tell young engineers is that this is possible. In other words, if you work hard and dedicate yourself, you can definitely make it happen."
