Workflow
The basic workflow of CELL HANDLER™2 is imaging, cell analysis and sorting, and cell picking and dispensing.
- Imaging
- It photographs culture vessels such as microplates and captures the state of cells in still and video images.
- Cell Analysis & Sorting
- The target cells are sorted based on morphological/phenotypic features values obtained by image analysis.
- Cell Picking & Dispensing
- Eight head units equipped with our unique tips pick the sorted cells and place them at the specified position.
Evolving into a partner device that assists cell research on a daily basis
The CELL HANDLERTM™2, with its flexible combination of “Imaging,” “Cell Analysis,” and “Pick & Place” functionalities, supports a wide array of day-to-day experiments with control and precision. With its enhanced functionalities, such as AI-assisted cell recognition and cell tracing, the CELL HANDLERTM™2 has evolved into a more practical partner instrument than ever.

Main Product Features
Feature 01
Operation with microscope-like usability
This picking device incorporates microscope-like usability. We aimed to enable even researchers who are accustomed to operating microscopes to smoothly obtain the information they want without stress.
Feature 02
Traceable information management
The feature information and movement coordinate information of the sample obtained are automatically recorded in the device. By realizing traceable information management, it assists data management in cell research, which requires strict precision.
Feature 03
Enhanced cell detection with AI functions
AI optimized for each user accurately detects cells under conditions that were previously difficult to identify, contributing to the efficiency of research and reliability of experiments.
Feature 04
Delicate and precise cell handling
Precision Tip™ is an advanced tip part developed exclusively by Yamaha. It also has an auto-calibration function, which brushes up ultra-high precision and damage-free cell handling.
Feature 05
Orthodox evolution reflecting opinions from the research site
We have pursued orthodox evolution, reflecting opinions from the research site, such as strengthening the imaging function to support 20x magnification, improving the software UI, and making the main unit more compact.
