Q1What motivated you to challenge the WTGP at the time?

I heard that the winner of the 2014 NTGP held in Taiwan would earn a place in the international tournament, so took part in it. I was very excited when I heard from YMT Services that I had earned a place in the WTGP. My expectations grew when I realized that participating in the WTGP would provide me with the opportunity to interact with high-level technicians on a global scale. I was also extremely lucky to be ranked in third position.
Q2What effort did you make to win the prize?

I studied all about the YTA and basic maintenance requirements, and practiced repairing malfunctioning motorbikes in order to prepare for the WTGP. To be honest, I suffer from congenital color blindness, and it is very difficult for me to distinguish between red and green, for example, on electrical circuit diagrams. In order to overcome this, I took special training to learn how to differentiate between colors. I also practiced by checking out each and every component on an actual motorbike.

Q3Were there any effects in your job after you win the prize at the WTGP? Please introduce us the episode of the positive effects to your professional attitude and others.

Taiwan is currently fully equipped with an Internet environment, and I immediately spread the word about my win using this. This has resulted in an increase in customers and visitors. I received an offer from an instructor in a technical college asking me to help him out as an instructor. Also, an employee from NISSAN Taiwan who was sent to Japan as a representative of Taiwan to gain experience purchased his own motorbike from my dealership. I am also delighted that taking part in the WTGP has enabled me to meet up with people who share similar situations and experiences.
Q4Let us know the activities or services your shop doing to go beyond the expectation of the customers if any.

My dealership adopted TCS activities and put them to practical use last year. Strengthening our stock of parts for repair purposes has reduced the amount of time customers have to wait, and we also implement training courses for employees during comparatively slack working hours. I also want our employees to acquire national qualifications. We will improve customer satisfaction by increasing the technical skills of the entire dealership and by ensuring that we have a sufficient stock of parts.

Q5When do you find your job rewarding.

One of my customers introduced a friend with whom he had scheduled a road trip, and he purchased a large motorcycle. Apparently, this friend suffered from depression. However, riding his motorcycle every day helped refresh him and he gradually began to feel better. This made me realize just how important and significant my work is in this field.
Q6What do you want to challenge or be passionately at work from here on?

My dealership has created a work standards chart with high levels of precision and are carrying out our work in accordance with these standards. We also expect our employees to leave the company and start up their own dealerships so that we can expand our network. We have also established a system in which talented employees can receive higher wages.

You represent top-class participants who are able to bathe in the limelight of the WTGP, so I hope you will all make the best use of your skills and show the world what you can do.
