Q1What motivated you to challenge the WTGP at the time?
It was the encouragement of my company's manager, the support of the YMVN Education group and also my own desire to sharpen my current skills and to learn more from other contestants worldwide.
Q2What effort did you make to win the prize?
I tried to study and practice much more, theory as well as SOP, to repair and maintain motorcycles. As well as that, I also learned how to improve my communication skills with customers and took time to study English.
Q3Were there any effects in your job after you win the prize at the WTGP? Please introduce us the episode of the positive effects to your professional attitude and others.
After WTGP, I have been trying to work more professionally and be a good example to other technicians. I am assigned as manager of the Service & Education section of my company, and I have been working well in this position.
Having won 1st prize at WTGP, my colleagues and I are proud of this result. However, we did not rest on our laurels but kept studying, improving our skills and training other technicians, looking for the best ones to take part in the next WTGP.
Q4Let us know the activities or services your shop doing to go beyond the expectation of the customers if any.
Besides 3S activities (such as Yamaha SOP), we have many added value services for customers such as a VIP card for loyal customers (Exciter Club in Bien Hoa), no service charge during "gold hours" (from 8.00 AM to 11.00 PM every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), a rescue service, and small gifts for customers.
Q5When do you find your job rewarding.
My viewpoint since being a technician is that, for any job, if working with love you can do it well and fulfill the task.
Q6What do you want to challenge or be passionately at work from here on?
My target is to make the service quality of my company the best. Besides that, my colleagues and I have a duty to train a generation of technicians with good skills and knowledge to take part in and get prizes at the WTGP.
Q7Please give a message for the 2016 WTGP participants to cheer them up.
You should get a good grounding in technical knowledge and skills, follow SOP and be self-confident during the contest. Communication skills are very important, so practice every day. When taking part in the WTGP, you are all winners but only one of you gets to be Number 1!
