  • Q1What motivated you to challenge the WTGP at the time?
The competitive spirit was my main motivation at the time of the contest. Secondly, it was my curiosity to compare myself with and challenge myself against colleagues from other countries.
  • Q2What effort did you make to win the prize?
Many months before the beginning of the competition in France (the National Technician Grand Prix) and before the final step of going to Japan, I spent many evenings, after my daily job in the workshop, reading technology books, previous training books issued by Yamaha and checking, on real units, what I had learnt. This gave me confidence for the theory and also for practical tasks. The national distributor (Yamaha Motor France at that time) organized the NTGP in May, and that helped me get used to working in a contest environment.
  • Q3Were there any effects in your job after you win the prize at the WTGP? Please introduce us the episode of the positive effects to your professional attitude and others.
I didn't change from the dealership or from my job after WTGP but managed to negotiate a reasonable increase in my wages.
I am also proud, now, of working in the dealership with young apprentices and I am a kind of mentor to them. One apprentice won the regional championship of motorcycle technicians and will participate at the national level next year.
  • Q4Let us know the activities or services your shop doing to go beyond the expectation of the customers if any.
Customers still remember my results from WTGP and they appreciate our service.
  • Q7Please give a message for the 2016 WTGP participants to cheer them up.
Prepare yourself on a regular basis, enjoy the competition, enjoy the fair spirit of other competitors from all over the world, do your best and be confident in your strength. I hope you can show your skills with pride.
