Yamaha CBU's latest generation, the all new YZF-R1 and its special version, the YZF-R1M, was a real crowd pleaser at its launch in Indonesia at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) on Saturday night, August 22, 2015.
Nearly two decades after the YZF-R1 was first launched in Milan, Italy, now big bike hunters can once again enjoy the triumph of this latest version. The High-Tech-Armed-Pure-Sport, all new YZF-R1 basic concept brings a refreshing feel to the R1 spirit. Even more spectacular is the YZR-M1 MotoGP machine technology that is applied to this exceptional bike. The new model carries a new cross-plane engine, short wheelbase chassis, and high-tech electronics.
Focus on development, especially for the race track, was proven with the All New YZF-R1 as the fastest bike on the circuit when Yamaha secured the 2015 Suzuka 8 Hours title by Yamaha trio riders Pol Espargaro, Bradley Smith, and Katsuyuki Nakasuga.
On the launch day of the newest YZF-R1 and YZF-R1M, Yamaha Indonesia also announced that the motorcycle stocks in Indonesia (5 units of YZF-R1 and 5 units of YZF-R1M) were already sold out! This all added to the amazement that these latest bikes only needed a day to be sold.
