On June 5, 2015, Thai Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (TYM) donated two YZF-R6 engines to King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) to be utilized by students participating in the 2015 Student Formula Japan Competition, held in Japan.
The Black Pearl Team from KMUTT has been attending the Formula SAE Competition since 2005, and has regularly won various awards at both national and international levels. In last year’s competition, the team was the highest ranking overseas team, coming in 14th runner up out of the 94 teams competing from 10 countries.
Supporting the Black Pearl Team of KMUTT by providing engines will reinforce the motor sport policy together with the policy to support future leader development, for the continuing overall development of automotive technology in Thailand.
