Ria Mulyaningsih became the 2014 Yamaha Billionaire for Yamaha Indonesia’s 40 Year Anniversary. She won the grand prize of one billion rupiahs in a contest for customers from all over Indonesia who bought Yamaha motorcycles in 2014 (June 1st – July 31st). Ria bought a Mio GT (automatic motorcycle) for daily transportation. She liked the Mio GT design, colors and fuel economy, as well as the appropriate “Mau Irit Oke” (MIO) slogan.
On Sunday September 28th, Ria was invited to a Yamaha Motor social event, the “Yamaha Devotion to Country” in Jakarta. Yamaha Motor hosted the 31 year old private employee on the day, picking her up from her home and escorting her to a five-star hotel for a complimentary night of luxury accommodation, as well as taking her to a local radio station for a special interview. Along with the one billion rupiahs as the grand prize, Yamaha also gave 40 other lucky customers 100 million rupiahs each, 30 winners received an R15 each, and another 10 winners each received an R25. A further 40 lucky winners each received Umrah prizes (a Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca) and variety gifts were given to 400,000 customers that bought motorcycles at Yamaha dealers throughout the country.
