In August 2014 the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee signed a contract for the delivery of 172 new surveillance motorcycles. These new motorcycles are an evolution of the current Yamaha FJR1300”K” which has been used by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee since 2006. Out of the 172 motorcycles about 130 units will be used for operational tasks such as military and governmental escorts, police surveillance around national airports and foreign police tasks. Twelve motorcycles will be equipped with “high tech” features for special tasks and transports, and another 30 motorcycles will be used for several training programs. Yamaha Motor Netherlands has prepared this project for over 1 ½ years with a team of 5 members to successfully meet the high standards of this special customer. The results are very satisfying: a substantial contract including service for 7 years and a happy customer!
