Yamaha Indonesia has celebrated 40 years in Indonesia. The celebration event was attended by President and CEO of Yamaha Motor Company Japan Hiroyuki Yanagi, Yamaha Indonesia Board of Directors, and Indonesian government ministry officials. The celebration also saw the release of the Yamaha R25 global model, the production and export of which has been entrusted to Yamaha Indonesia. During the 40 years since it was established on July 6, 1974, Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing has become the first-choice motorcycle supplier to the Indonesian market. The first office and also factory was established in Pulogadung, Jakarta Timur. On January 27, 2006, Yamaha Indonesia opened its second factory in the industrial area KIIC Karawang, West Java, which was officially opened by the President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Yamaha Indonesia’s operations cover an area of 53 hectares, with a production capacity of 11-13,000 motorcycles per day. Yamaha Indonesia has two manufacturing bases, 4 parts producers, and 6 factories. Through its rapid development, Yamaha Indonesia now has 7 group companies and 160 vendors. The number of employees has increased to approximately 20,000. Its network includes 4,300 dealers with 6 DDS (Direct Distribution System) or Flagship Stores in Jakarta, West Java, Center of Java, Bali, Jambi, and Madiun-Kediri.
