A Yamaha Motor Australia sponsored ski racing team powered by Yamaha’s four-stroke VF200 VMAX SHO, has enjoyed a ‘fairy tale first season’, with five new trophies out of six starts.
In a category of boat racing historically dominated by two-strokes, the team named “Yamaha Four-stroke” had a lot to prove in their inaugural season. According to team captain Clayton Allard, the new VF200 motor uses half the fuel and delivers amazing acceleration that was a real advantage for the team throughout the season.
Amidst a sea of two-stroke powered competitors, the Yamaha was the only four-stroke powered boat on the grid. The 2013/14 season results included the 200HP class national title, and is a fine testament to their outstanding skills and the performance of their Yamaha VF200 VMAX SHO Outboard.
