Recreational hunting is a popular sport in Australia that continues to grow. Victorians claim that hunting is the second biggest tourist money earner in their state.
Deer are hunted in Victoria while in Queensland and NSW feral pigs are more likely to be in the sights.
With over 46,000 licensed game hunters in Victoria alone, 98% of whom are male, hunters are an important target market for Yamaha utility vehicles in Australia.
This is the reason for YMA’s Viking and Grizzly display at the Shot Expo in Sydney recently. 30,000 hunting and shooting enthusiasts packed the Rosehill Racecourse to witness Yamaha utility vehicles kitted with genuine accessories including gun racks and camo plastics.
“Hunters are an enthusiastic bunch and fully committed to their sport. When they discover that Yamaha utility vehicles can access hunting grounds that their 4WDs can’t, they are immediately interested in our lineup. Our presence at the Sydney Shot Expo shows support for an industry that has its critics – and it was pleasing to receive such positive feedback from hunting and shooting showgoers,” says YMA Marketing Manager Laurie Carleton.
