YFZ450

ATV buggies are fitted with special low-pressure tires that mean they can go almost anywhere. The YFZ450, the motif of today’s bento, is a high performance sports model based on a commercially-available motocrosser engine.

Ingredients

Kuri-gohan (Chestnut rice)

  1. (1) Rice 300g
  2. (2) Water or light dashi 360cc
  3. (3) Sake 20cc
  4. (4) Salt 1 teaspoon
  5. (5) Kombu seaweed 5 square cm

Stuffed Goya

  • (1) 1 goya (bitter melon)
  • (2) Ground pork 150g
  • (3) 1/4 Onion, some vegetables and mushrooms as you like (optional)
  • (4) Pinch of salt and pepper
  • (5) Vegetable oil 1 tablespoon
  • (6) Flour 1 tablespoon or less
  • (7) Sake 20cc
  • (8) Ready-made sukiyaki or teriyaki sauce (or some mirin and soy sauce)

Shredded egg

  • (1) Egg
  • (2) Vegetalbe oil

Kuri-gohan (Chestnut rice)

  1. (1) Wash rice and drain off water. Let the rice sit for 30 minutes.
  2. (2) Peel chestnuts
  3. (3) Put the rice and the rest of the ingredients in a rice cooker and cook it as you would usually cook rice.

Stuffed Goya (bitter melon)

  1. (1) Chop onions (and vegetables and mushrooms) from ingredients (3) above. Fry and let it cool.
  2. (2) Mix fried onion from (1) above, salt and pepper with ground pork well. Keep refrigerated.
  3. (3) Cut goya in 1.5 cm slices.
  4. (4) Hollow the goya out with a spoon.
  5. (5) Sprinkle the flour on cut goya. Stuff ground pork inside, then sprinkle some flour on meat again.
  6. (6) Put vegetable oil in a pan and fry the goya. Turn it over and fry the other side.
  7. (7) Pour sake, aluminum foil lid and fry until cooked.
  8. (8) When the goya has browned, pour some sauce into the pan and thicken.

Shredded egg

  1. (1) Beat egg well.
  2. (2) Fry egg in a thin layer. Turn it over and fry the other side, just like a crepe.
  3. (3) Cut into thin strips.
