1966 TD-1B (Later version)
(1966 / Racing Machine)
This model was the successor to the TD-1A 250cc production road racer. It mounted an air-cooled, in-line 2-cylinder engine developed from that of the production model YDS-3 on a double cradle frame. In Japan there were few races it could enter due to machine regulations, so it was mostly exported to North America and Europe, where it was used in a variety of races and achieved performance that rivaled factory machines. The model on display is a further evolved later variation with a smart-looking white fuel tank that would be handed down to the TD-1C.
- Engine type: Air-cooled, 2-stroke, in-line 2-cylinder, 246cm³
- Transmission: 5-speed
- Maximum power output: 25.7kW (35PS) / 7,500r/min
