Adoption of a teardrop style fuel tank and independently mounted meters made this a stylish 250cc class sport model. The engine drew on the YDS series' 2-stroke, 2-cylinder tradition and added a 5-port cylinder to boost power for lighter, more agile performance. A scrambler-variation DS6-C with a high-mount muffler was also marketed.
