Yamaha Racing Brasil rider finishes
the season in the Top 3 in the Yamaha R3
BLU CRU World Cup 2026
Yamaha Racing Brasil rider Aymon Bocanegra, representing Yamaha AD78 FIM Latinamerica Team, won one of the races of the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Cup 2026 final and finished the season in the competition's Top 3. The rider, who holds dual nationality and races for Brazil, took the top spot on the podium in Race 1 and secured third place in Race 2, earning enough points to finish among the top three overall.
Brazil's strong weekend began with the Superpole session on Friday (October 9th), where Mário Salles, competing as a substitute for Leonardo Marques, secured a spot on the front row, followed by Aymon on the second row. Heitor Ourinho started from 17th position.
On Saturday (October 10th), the Brazilians displayed great pace and a highly competitive performance; the duo of Aymon and Mário crossed the finish line virtually together, separated by just 0.05 seconds, confirming Aymon's victory in Race 1, with Mário Salles taking second place.
Race 2, held on Sunday (October 11th), confirmed Aymon's strong performance as he returned to the podium with a third-place finish. Heitor Ourinho crossed the finish line in 14th place, while Mário Salles encountered issues and failed to finish the race.
“It was a stage where I felt really good with the bike and the circuit. We were fighting for the championship, but we took away the positive aspect that, despite the ups and downs we experienced this year, we were able to fight until the very end. I want to thank my entire team, my family, and everyone who supports me”, stated Aymon Bocanegra.
With the victory and podium secured in Portugal, Aymon Bocanegra finished the championship in third place overall, capping off a season marked by speed, consistency, and major achievements. Leonardo Marques finished the season in ninth place, and Heitor Ourinho in 14th.
