Yamaha Rightwaters™ Supports Worldwide Waterway Cleanup

June 27, 2026 | YMUS | CSR

Yamaha Rightwaters joined volunteers around the world June 27 to support Yamaha Pro Angler Carl Jocumsen's annual worldwide waterway cleanup, an initiative led through his nonprofit organization, Fear My Heart.

This year's cleanup brought together volunteers across 136 bodies of water in 41 states and provinces spanning five countries including the United States, Japan, Australia, Switzerland and Canada. Participants removed more than 20,000 pounds of trash from waterways, with cleanup totals continuing to grow.

Locally, the Yamaha Rightwaters team participated in a cleanup at Allatoona Lake, where employees collected five bags of trash from the shoreline and surrounding waters. Yamaha Rightwaters also donated three YETI coolers for giveaway prizes during the event.

"Yamaha Rightwaters exists to support programs that protect and improve the waters our customers enjoy every day,” said Joshua Grier, Sustainability Program Manager, Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit. “Working with Carl and Fear My Heart allows us to extend that mission beyond our products and work alongside volunteers who share our commitment to cleaner, healthier waterways."

Jocumsen launched Fear My Heart to inspire people to care for the outdoors through conservation, community service and youth engagement. The organization's annual worldwide cleanup encourages anglers, families and outdoor enthusiasts to remove litter from lakes, rivers and coastlines while demonstrating the collective impact of local action.

"Our biggest cleanup yet, and I feel this is the start of something greater," said Jocumsen. "Thank you to everyone that put in the work and made our lakes better for the future. We are making the planet a cleaner, safer place for generations to come. Together we can make a difference."

Through initiatives like the worldwide cleanup, Yamaha Rightwaters continues to advance its mission of supporting healthy waterways and encouraging responsible stewardship for future generations.
