








Born for Track, Built for Street:Yamaha YZF-R9 Unveiled at Shanghai International Circuit
On June 15, 2026, the launch event of Yamaha’s all-new YZF-R9 kicked off with roaring engines at Shanghai International Circuit. Centered on three core sessions — new model unveiling, customer track experience and professional media test rides, the event gathered a total of 110 attendees, consisting of national key dealer representatives, professional motorcycle media, loyal Yamaha riders and brand sponsors, who gathered for an immersive track feast. The entire launch event built a unique R World atmosphere relying on authentic circuit surroundings.
During the launch session, executives from Yamaha YMSM, YMCN and YMRS delivered keynote speeches, followed by the on-site unveiling of the all-new YZF-R9, in-depth explanations of its development philosophy and core highlights, and the release of official pricing. The event further embedded Yamaha’s exquisite craftsmanship and cutting-edge technologies rooted in its ergonomic R DNA into every attendee’s mind, while communicating the brand’s user-centric ethos to all guests: continuously elevating product competitiveness via superior riding performance.
During the test ride segment, professional media representatives and invited customers were offered hands-on experience with the new model. Following dedicated circuit riding training, journalists conducted comprehensive track test rides, conducting thorough reviews and evaluations covering a full spectrum of metrics such as vehicle specifications and sensory riding experience. Meanwhile, under the supervision of certified professional instructors, invited customers engaged in standardized safe riding sessions to get an authentic feel of the ergonomic handling characteristics delivered by the YZF-R9.
Using the racetrack as a backdrop, this event served as a platform for in-depth engagement between the brand, dealers, the media and consumers, providing a vivid demonstration of the YZF-R9’s formidable performance capabilities. At the same time, the event was livestreamed on TikTok, attracting 510,000 views and 175,000 likes within two hours.
