Amid the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Gulf region and the resulting fuel price volatility, promoting fuel efficient mobility became a key strategic priority for Yamaha Motor India. To highlight the real-world benefits of Yamaha's Smart Motor Generator (SMG) Hybrid technology, the company actively intensified the Hybrid Mileage Challenge, an ongoing customer engagement initiative.

In April 2026, the Hybrid Mileage Challenge was conducted across multiple cities – Pune, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Kochi, Lucknow and Mumbai, engaging over 400 customers. The initiative was further expanded, led by the dealerships, spanning 141 activities across 109 cities and involving approximately 1,800 Yamaha owners nationwide.

During these activities, participants ride on curated routes covering city roads, traffic conditions, and open stretches, enabling them to experience SMG performance across diverse riding scenarios. Mileage is measured accurately before and after each ride to identify top mileage performers. The events are designed as family-friendly experiences, with friends and family encouraged to participate in on-ground engagements. Winners are recognized with trophies, certificates, gift cards, and Yamaha merchandise, while all participants receive complimentary washing, a 10-point inspection, and expert riding and maintenance tips to help maximize fuel efficiency.

All initiatives are further amplified through targeted social media outreach, garnering millions of views and reinforcing Yamaha's leadership in hybrid mobility, while strengthening customer trust and long-term engagement across the Yamaha ecosystem.

With more such initiatives planned in the future, Yamaha's Smart Motor Generator (SMG) technology continues to reinforce the brand's commitment to delivering the ideal balance of performance and fuel efficiency. Featuring Silent Start, Stop & Start System (SSS), and Enhanced Power Assist, SMG is available across FZ Hybrid motorcycles and 125cc hybrid scooters – RayZR and Fascino, delivering stronger acceleration during initial pick up, load carrying, and incline climbing while consistently maintaining superior fuel efficiency.
