Celebrating the Retirement of Caroline Lyons
After six impactful years with Yamaha Motor Canada, we celebrated the retirement of Caroline Lyons, Manager, Employee and Dealer Development, at the end of February 2026.
Caroline has been a driving force behind the evolution of Yamaha’s learning and development landscape. Her work has strengthened the capabilities of both employees and our dealer network, elevating the standard of training across the organization.
One of Caroline’s most significant achievements was leading the transformation of Yamaha’s Training Academies — including the creation of the Yamaha Motor Business Academy (YMBA). This foundational program has created structured development pathways that offer our employees opportunities to engage, develop, and advance in their careers, setting a strong benchmark for future growth.
Caroline’s leadership and commitment to innovation culminated in two major milestones in 2025: Yamaha Motor Canada being recognized with the Queen’s University IRC Excellence Award for Best Learning & Development Strategy at the Canadian HR Awards, as well as earning a Silver win in the Brandon Hall Group’s Excellence in Action Awards. These awards and recognitions highlight the depth, quality, and impact of the programs Caroline championed.
Beyond accomplishments, Caroline’s true legacy lies in the culture she helped nurture – one rooted in continuous learning, curiosity, and personal growth. She has shaped the professional journeys of countless individuals, inspiring them to develop new skills, embrace change, and strive for excellence. Her influence will continue to influence the way Yamaha invests in its people for years to come.
Please join us in congratulating Caroline on her retirement and wishing her all the best in this exciting new chapter. Her contributions have left a lasting legacy, and she will be deeply missed.
