Restoring Vision, Restoring Lives:
Yamaha’s Gift of Sight

September 30, 2025 | YMI | CSR

India Yamaha Motor, in collaboration with the Ishwar Charitable Trust (ICT), is implementing the Gift of Sight Project—a comprehensive eye care initiative designed to support elderly citizens in rural communities and children in government schools. Launched in February 2025 and scheduled to continue through December 2025, the program underscores Yamaha’s commitment to enhancing community health, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health & Well-Being.

In rural regions of Greater Noida, Faridabad, and Delhi, more than 35 eye screening camps are planned for elderly beneficiaries during the year. So far, the initiative has reached over 1,400 individuals, providing free check-ups, medicines, and spectacles, along with over 250 critical surgeries that have already restored vision and dignity for many senior citizens.

The project is also extending support to education by reaching government schools in Noida, acknowledging the vital link between good eyesight and learning outcomes. Out of the targeted 42 school-based camps, 27 have been completed to date, with over 4,500 students screened. Hundreds have already received free spectacles, medicines, and surgical interventions, enabling them to learn without barriers.

More than a health initiative, the Gift of Sight Project embodies Yamaha’s philosophy of creating meaningful social impact. It reaffirms the company’s role not only as a manufacturer of mobility solutions but also as a responsible corporate citizen dedicated to empowering communities and improving quality of life.
