Peruvian-Brazilian rider Aymon Bocanegra, representing the Yamaha AD78 FIM Latin America team, returned to the podium at the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Championship on July 27th. Bocanegra secured third place in Race 2 of the fourth round of the championship, held at the Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary.

It was an intense weekend for the Brazilian team, which also features rider Mario Salles. During the Superpole, both riders faced some challenges and started the races from less favorable positions on the grid — Salles from P9 and Bocanegra from P11.

Despite the setbacks, both riders delivered strong performances in pursuit of crucial championship points. In Race 1 on July 26th, Bocanegra narrowly missed the podium, finishing in fourth place. He also set the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1:59.232, establishing a new lap record for the circuit. Salles also improved his grid position, finishing in seventh place.

On July 27th, Bocanegra seized another opportunity to fight for a podium finish—and succeeded. With an impressive performance, he overtook competitors to claim third place and secure another podium appearance. Salles once again fought hard, repeating his Race 1 result with another P7 finish.

Following the Hungarian round, Mario Salles now sits fifth in the overall standings with 97 points, while Aymon Bocanegra climbs to sixth place with 69 points.

The duo now returns to Brazil to begin preparations for the penultimate round of the Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Championship, scheduled to take place in Aragón, Spain, in September.
