Riders for Health Gears Up with Yamaha Apparel
from Special Donation of YME’s P&A Team

May 6, 2025 | YME

Yamaha Motor Europe (YME) is since 2022 an official partner of Riders for Health (RfH), a global non-profit and social organisation dedicated to ensuring reliable transportation for medical services throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Through this partnership, RfH has received Yamaha motorcycles to support their transport for the healthcare programme in The Gambia. The collaboration has also helped raise awareness of their mission within the wider motorcycle community by naming them the official charity partner of the Yamaha Ténéré World Raid Rally Team. In addition, Yamaha has supported their fundraising efforts through event participation, auction items, and competition prizes.

As part of this ongoing support and commitment to making a positive impact beyond the world of motorsports, YME’s P&A team made a significant contribution by donating RfH a total of 3,000 items of riding gear that will be used by sample couriers. This equipment is essential to ensure their safety and comfort while transporting biological samples and test results from remote clinics to laboratories. This work is critical in enabling the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases, helping to prevent their spread.

The donation included a wide variety of products aimed at supporting the safety, comfort, and morale of the incredible individuals working on the ground – from high-quality riding gear like jackets, trousers, and gloves, to Yamaha Kids merchandise, mugs, and keyrings. This donation also serves another meaningful purpose: it allows RfH to show appreciation to their dedicated staff in Nigeria, who have made a significant impact on the nation's health. All 162 team members received a pack of Yamaha goodies, including items for their families.

Seeing how our donation could directly support life-saving healthcare delivery in remote communities, and bring genuine joy and appreciation to the RfH team, was incredibly moving and a real showcase of what Kando represents.

This initiative reflected our deep respect for the life-saving work RfH does, as well as our belief in the power of mobility to transform lives. From the enthusiasm of Riders’ staff receiving the gear, to the pride we felt in contributing to such an important cause, this was a moment of Kando for everyone involved.
