In the end of April, Yamaha Motor Europe’s (YME) Marketing team took our latest WaveRunner innovations straight to the Atlantic. With the stunning backdrop of Portimão, in the Algarve region of Portugal, we hosted a 1-week high-energy, hands-on media experience for the presentation of the expanded JetBlaster family.

With 97 journalists, influencers, and Yamaha dealers in attendance, the event was a vibrant convergence of sport, technology, and unforgettable coastal scenery. The purpose was to let them test, ride, and feel the power of our WaveRunners – JetBlaster, JetBlaster DLX, JetBlaster PRO, VX DeLuxe, FX Cruiser SVHO, the GP HO, and the SuperJet – all designed to push the limits of performance and adventure on the water. Attendees had the chance to test the models, each unit offering its own unique thrill, over three curated test routes: “Sightseeing & River Climb”, a scenic ride up the Arade river, offering a slow start-up; “Waves”, a high-adrenaline session testing towards the Atlantic ocean to push the WaveRunners to full power; and a SuperJet testing activity all day in the Arade river.

One of the highlights of the week was a live rescue demonstration showcased by the big wave surfer and Yamaha ambassador Nic von Rupp. The precision and power of the FX Cruiser SVHO, coupled with expert manoeuvring, illustrated the utility and purpose this product can have. It was a display of how our technology supports safety in real-world conditions.

Another activity was a workshop for all attendants to test their knowledge about our history and technical prowess of Yamaha's WaveRunners. The winners were rewarded with Yamaha Music wireless sports earbuds TW-ES5A to make a connection with the powerful Yamaha Music speakers selected WaveRunners are equipped with.

In the end, the feedback was very positive, with guests highlighting the enthusiasm and availability of the Yamaha team.
