Yamaha Brazil Reinforces Commitment to Traffic Safety and Reaches Thousands of Motorcyclists during The Yellow May Campaign

May, 2025 | YMDB

In a country where traffic accidents are among the leading causes of accidental deaths, Yamaha Brazil reaffirms its commitment to road safety.

During Yellow May 2025 — a national awareness movement aimed at reducing traffic accidents — the company led impactful actions that reached around 5,000 motorcyclists in different regions of the country.

This year's campaign carried the theme “Slow Down. Life is Your Greatest Asset,” encouraging drivers and motorcyclists to reflect on how haste and impatience directly affect safety on streets and highways.

In partnership with Abraciclo (Brazilian Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers) and local city governments, Yamaha took part in six educational pit stops held in strategic locations across Brazil.

During these events, the company offered interactive activities focused on safe behavior, such as lectures, practical blind spot simulations, safety quizzes, and giveaways. The entire initiative was supported by the technical and educational expertise of the Yamaha Riding Academy (YRA), a leading authority in defensive riding training.

According to YRA data, a motorcycle collision at 60 km/h may have the same impact as falling from a height of 14 meters. By reducing the speed to 30 km/h, the impact force might drop by up to 75%. It is insights like these that Yamaha shares with the public through its educational efforts, showing that simple actions can save lives.

Through these initiatives, Yamaha strengthens its vision of social responsibility and its ongoing commitment to life, continuing to accelerate toward a more conscious, humane, and safer traffic environment for all.
