The Stay Outdoors Program:
Supporting Conservation and Responsible Recreation
For the third year of the Stay Outdoors Grant Program, Yamaha Financial Corporation – Canada (YMFC-CA) has provided $95,932.82 to six not-for-profit organizations from across the country in support of their conservation, education, access and/or sustainable use initiatives:
• Angling4Autism (BC) – to provide families in the autism community first time fishing experiences on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
• British Columbia Steelhead Society (BC) – to help preserving and enhancing the population of wild steelhead in British Columbia while at the same time promoting the protection of fish and fish habitat.
• Northumberland County (ON) – to protect sensitive ecosystems, restore wildlife habitats, enhance safety for outdoor enthusiasts, and promote environmental stewardship among trail users.
• Sentiers du Mont-Comi (QC) – to develop, restore and maintain safe mountain bike trails and provide volunteers with a new gathering and storage area.
• Sudbury Trail and Adventure Riders Association (ON) – to grow and promote sustainable off-road motorcycle riding in Sudbury and Northern Ontario.
• Western Sno-Riders (NL) – to provide season round access to their three trail shelters for all user groups with any form of disability, restriction or mobility issues.
Since its launch in 2022, the Stay Outdoors Grant Program has been making a meaningful impact on conservation efforts and responsible motorized recreation across Canada. Funded by YMFC-CA, the program was established to address the growing need for practical funding solutions that empower local initiatives and has awarded nearly $300,000 to date.
By supporting conservation and access projects, as well as activities that promote responsible use of trails, roads, and waterways, Stay Outdoors helps ensure that outdoor spaces remain available and well maintained for future generations. It also demonstrates Yamaha’s commitment to fostering spaces where Canadian enthusiasts can fully enjoy its various products.
