With the President's Awards, Yamaha Motor Engineering Co., Ltd. (YEC) celebrates initiatives and technologies that demonstrate outstanding contributions to its business. The following four initiatives received the President’s Awards for the fiscal year 2024:

“Process Development of the Plate Forging Method* Contributing to the Next-Generation Low-Fuel-Consumption Engine Components”:
YEC successfully developed a mass production process using the plate forging method, which was considered extremely challenging. The new process achieved both weight reduction and improved strength in mass-produced components, while reducing costs significantly. The project outcome contributed to increased competitiveness of the Yamaha brand in the marketplace and enhanced YEC’s presence in and outside the Yamaha Motor Group.

“Foundational Building and Establishment of the Engineering Solutions Business through the Completion of the First Contract Development Project”:
Building on experiences and engineering capabilities cultivated through development work from the Yamaha Motor Group, YEC offered solutions to challenges faced by customers outside the group. In this initiative, YEC took one step closer toward its vision as an engineering company by taking on new challenges in unfamiliar fields and processes. Our customers valued the results highly, which led to subsequent orders. The experience and technologies gained in markets outside of those of the Yamaha brand contribute to enhanced development capabilities of the Yamaha Motor Group in the future.

“Contributions to the Latin American Business through the Development of the ‘XTZ250’/'FZN250' ”:
The YEC-developed products for Central and South America, including Brazil and Colombia, outperformed competitors’ products in high-demand categories and made a significant contribution to Yamaha's brand and business. By front-loading development activities and establishing new testing environments, YEC achieved excellence in product quality, design, and reliability, demonstrating YEC’s expertise in developing Central and South American models.

“Launch of the X-QUICKER Power-assisted Firefighting Hose Carrier”:
The X-QUICKER, with a new power-assist system, made fast firefighting operations possible with less effort and personnel. By mobilizing the entire company to plan, develop, manufacture, and promote the product, YEC solved social issues, contributed to the continued development of the firefighting business, and demonstrated the potential for business expansion and growth through the new application of power-assist technologies.
