India Yamaha Motor (IYM) celebrated a significant milestone on February 4, 2025, at its Surajpur Plant in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, by rolling out the one millionth Yamaha YZF-R15 unit. The celebration witnessed the presence of key management members and employees.

On this occasion, Mr. Itaru Otani, Chairman of YMI-Group, expressed gratitude to all R15 owners for their trust in the brand. He also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of all the employees involved in the production, ever since it started. Manufacturing Head Mr. Wataru Yamazaki congratulated all employees and reflected on the R15’s evolution.

For IYM, this 1 million R15 milestone underscores Yamaha’s manufacturing excellence and commitment to global quality standards while meeting India’s demand for premium motorcycles.
It has been at the forefront of Yamaha’s performance strategy in the country, capturing the hearts of young riders since past 16 years, and the popularity continues to grow stronger with each passing year. With its iconic design and racing-inspired engineering, it continues to remain the top choice in its segment.

Since its launch, the YZF-R15 has undergone four major upgrades in India: its launch in 2008, Version 2 in 2011, Version 3 in 2018, and the latest Version 4 in 2021. Each iteration has received increasing love and support from customers. For the YZF-R15 riders, it is more than just a machine—it is a connection that fuels passion and creates unforgettable memories.
