UMS Business Recognized by Japan’s ASDF
for Transporting the Emergency Supplies to the Disaster Stricken Area
YMC was presented with a certificate of appreciation by the Air Development and Test Group Command, Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) on February 4th, 2025. The certificate was in recognition of our cooperation with the JASDF in transporting emergency supplies using the FAZER R G2, an automated navigation industrial-use unmanned helicopter, to the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake in January 2024.
The FAZER R G2 is equipped with both satellite and LTE communications and capable of long-duration long-distance flights. The FAZER R G2 was deployed to transport emergency supplies on 78-km round trips between Noto Satoyama Airport and Nanao Port under the ASDF command.
The aircraft was piloted from the operation room at Yamaha Motor's Fukuroi Factory, and the flight status was shared in real time with the ASDF headquarters in Tokyo.
The UMS Business Development Section has been promoting disaster prevention and relief initiatives utilizing the FAZER R G2. This initiative will continue into the future to mitigate the negative impact of disasters.
