Yamaha Sunday Race Opens in Indonesia with All New YZF-R15 Junior Pro Category
YIMM opened the Yamaha Sunday Race on Sunday, April 8 at Sentul International Circuit, targeting community users of the YZF-R6, the YZF-R25, and the YZF-R15.
Yamaha Sunday Race is a Yamaha one-make racing series with a total of 10 classes ranging from pro to community categories. 4 rounds are scheduled this year.
A new category “All New YZF-R15 Junior Pro” was launched this year targeting young riders of the new YZF-R15. Since the race had lacked a category for very young riders in past series, the All New YZF-R15 Junior Pro was created as a stepping stone for very young up-and-coming riders between 11 and 16 years of age. The champion of the first round was 12-year-old Aldi Satya Mahendra, a younger brother of a WSS300 contender, Galang Hendra Pratama.
The event also included exhibition booths of sponsors, the Aerox 155 Fun Riding session in a mini course, and the YZF-R25 riding analyzer.
A total of 217 race competitors and about 3,000 spectators came to the circuit, making the event a great success.
