Kids Meet at 9th Yamaha Cup Taiwan Junior Football Finals
On January 27, the 9th Yamaha Cup Taiwan Junior Football Tournament final matches were held in Taichung. 12 teams, which won the district qualifying among 306 teams, met at the final round. This year, children of the employees of Taiwan Yamaha group formed a team and participated in qualifying games.
In the games, mini football classes were held by coaches from Jubilo Iwata, a team playing in the J-1 League in Japan. They also took part in a football class jointly held on the previous day with a local elementary school team and taught the kids there. It was a good opportunity to help develop Taiwanese football as well as to exchange communications between Taiwanese and Japanese people.
This Yamaha Cup Junior Football Tournament has been held for nine years as part of the social action programs of Taiwan Yamaha group, and the group has been commended by the Taiwanese government for five consecutive years for its contribution to the development of sports activities.
