YMUS Announces Entry to E-Bike Market
In anticipation of the release of our electric power assist bicycles, or E-Bike, scheduled for the U.S. in the spring of 2018, prototype models were exhibited at “Interbike”, America’s largest bicycle industry trade show.
The prototype bikes displayed: A road bike “UrbanRush”, a city bike “CrossConnect”, a fitness bike “CrossCore”, and a mountain bike “YDX-TORC”. Yamaha opened new possibilities in electric bikes through its original E-Bike brand and drew attention from dealership representatives and from many in the media.
In the show, the “PW-X” system kit for power-assisted bikes received the Interbike Electric Product Innovation Award. The PW-X is a high-end product released last year in Europe and has received high evaluations in the European market, where Yamaha provides the product as an OEM supplier. With entry into the US E-Bike market ahead, Yamaha demonstrated its superior technological ability and a strong presence as a pioneering maker.
