“F25G” Receives the Innovation Award

September 19, 2017 | YMC

On September 19, Yamaha outboard “F25G” – called “F25C” in the North American market – received the Innovation Award – one of the highest recognitions for marine products – at the International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX®) 2017 in Tampa, Florida.

The F25G is a model developed in pursuit of the highest performance and user-friendliness. It is a light-weight compact model that can replace a 2-stroke outboard with a battery-less electronic fuel injection system. The model won the award for its incredible power-to-weight ratio – the highest for 25-horse-power outboards – and its compact size which is small enough to be mounted on many small boats.

The F25G’s award-winning facets are not limited to the above-mentioned features. The model’s ease of use and maintenance, and its various optional features were also highly rated. Battery-less fuel injection system, the variable trolling speed switch added to the tiller model as a standard feature, and the E-start conversion kit which allows existing outboard users to update its functions are all such examples.

A light-weight F25G model was a long-time market demand and it is a big challenge to achieve. It is a victory which was attained only through close collaboration of all teams in the Marine Engine Business Unit - from marketing and production to sales and engineering.
