August 30 – September 4, 2017, Russia hosted the prestigious X World Predator World Boat fishing championship.
At Ivankovskoye Reservoir, a part of Volga, which is one of the longest rivers in Europe, representatives of the 13 countries gathered to compete in fishing. Russia, Belarus, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, USA, France, Czech Republic, Estonia and South Africa were seriously fighting for the first prize. Some of them visited Russia for the first time and were very excited.

Yamaha Motor CIS acted as a technical sponsor, providing fleet of 15 boats for the participants. Jointly developed with Russian local manufacturer “Volzhanka”, boats named YAVA 470 SE with YAMAHA F70, were the official face of the whole event. Good steering, stability and high quality were pointed and all who drove were very excited about the package quality and contents.
The championship itself consisted of 2 days. Started in the morning, fishermen on motorboats with referees went to special fishing areas and fished till 4:00 pm. The championship was environment friendly. Acting upon the main principle “catch-and-release”, all the fish landed were returned to the river.
Certain types and length of fish were counted, such as Perch should have been longer than 30 cm, pike and zander longer than 50 cm.

The winners were:
1st place – GOLD – ROMANIA
2nd place – SILVER – POLAND
3rd place – BRONZE – RUSSIA

All the participants noted the high level of teamwork and were very pleased to take part in the event. Yamaha was highly promoted at Russian TV channels, local and worldwide media.

We congratulate the winners with the deserved victory!
