Giving the best possible end to their week-long adventure on the Italian island, Yamaha Motor Europe Chief Operating Officer Eric de Seynes together with co-driver Camelia Liparoti claimed an emphatic SSV class victory with Yamaha's new YXZ1000R SS machine.

Taking the lead in the SSV class right after the short opening Prologue, Eric and Camelia successfully battled their way through five long and highly demanding rally stages to find themselves on the top step of the podium at the finish of the rally in San Teodoro.

“We’re leaving Sardinia with a hugely positive feedback,” admitted Eric’s co-driver and eight time Dakar Rally finisher Camelia Liparoti. “The toughest part of the race was its demanding navigation. Despite a couple of flat tyres, we managed to stay fast and consistent. It’s a big win for Yamaha and the greatest way to show the big potential of the YXZ1000R SS machine.”

Yamaha’s domination in this tenth edition of the event was completed by WR450F mounted Alessandro Botturi claiming victory in the Motorcycle category and France’s Sébastien Souday topping the Quad class.
