The 82nd ordinary general meeting of shareholders held
The 82nd ordinary general meeting of shareholders was held on March 23, at our Communication Plaza, Iwata City, Shizuoka.
Due to the increase in individual shareholders, a record number of 639 people attended the general meeting, over100 people more than last year.
The following 4 agenda items were discussed: (1) Year-end dividend, (2) Election of board members, (3) Election of auditor, and (4) Election of substitute auditor.
Regarding dividends, 30% of the consolidated net income was set as the dividend payout ratio, and by comprehensively taking the business environment into consideration, the company proposed a year-end dividend of 30 yen (an annual dividend of 60 yen). All agenda items were approved.
At the general meeting, an explanation of the business report of 2016, the business plan and budget plan for 2017, and the progress of the medium-term management plan were provided. Nine shareholders raised questions or opinions.
Questions included issues regarding future business activities such as "the influence of the Trump Administration on our business", "Measures to achieve the present term's operating profit targets for the motorcycle business", as well as risk-management-related questions such as "Specific measures against natural disasters". The general meeting revealed the shareholders' expectations for our company's growth.
