A new building of the IM Business Unit was completed in Toyooka-cho, Kita-ku, Hamamatsu-shi, Shizuoka, Japan, and the unit has moved to the new building. The completion ceremony was held on February 28 with a total of about 200 guests including people from our agencies in Japan and other countries as well as our suppliers.

The ceremony started with performance of Enshu daiko (Japanese drum). The attendants enjoyed the Japanese traditional performing art and felt vibrations from the beats of the drums in their bodies. During the ribbon cutting by the guests of honor, a string quartet played gorgeous melodies to set the mood for the ceremony as if it were held in a concert hall. In a preview event, the guests toured eight important places including an assembly area with mounters and robots and an office that can accommodate up to 1,000 people, as well as an observatory room, demonstration line and showroom created on the mezzanine floor, to directly witness the new IM.

The new building has a structure that integrates offices with plants to materialize the unification of manufacturing, sales and technology, which is the strength of our business. It also has many excellent facilities appropriate for the IM business, which involves frequent contacts with customers. Making use of this superior environment, we aim to further expand the business.
