June 2016 | YMUS

For the fifth consecutive year, Yamaha U.S. has proudly supported a special “Kenny Roberts’ True American Heroes” event that supports the “Welcome Home Heroes” and Cpl. Michael D. Anderson, Jr. memorial foundation, begun to provide assistance to veterans of the U.S. military as they transition from active duty to private life.

This year, a very special customized Yamaha Bolt was the centerpiece of the charity auction, and raised a total of $26,500 to help this important endeavor. The Bolt was designed with the iconic look of former three-time World Champion Kenny Roberts' dirt tracker as he raced during the 1970s to multiple U.S. dirt track victories and championships.

“The look and style of the custom 'KR Replica' Bolt C-Spec is a perfect tribute to the true heritage of Yamaha racing as defined by the great “King” Kenny Roberts himself,” said Bob Starr, Corporate Communications Manager for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., “We know that the monies raised from the auction of this special, one-of-a-kind motorcycle will go to a very worthy cause that Kenny and all of us at Yamaha are so passionate about!”
