World Superbike Event
The opening trials of the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) got underway February 26 through 28, 2016, at Phillip Island Circuit, 80 kilometers southeast of the cultural center of Melbourne, Australia.
Along with the return of a Yamaha team after five years, Yamaha Motor Finance Australia (YMFA) became the event's main sponsor, and the “Yamaha Finance Service” corporate logo was on prominent display throughout the circuit, including the home straight and the victory stand.
The event drew some 60,000 visitors over its three-day run, with the Yamaha exhibition booth enjoying big crowds.
Among this, the new-model MT-10, on display in Australia for the first time, attracting great attention and making for a lively event.
Also in attendance were Yamaha Motor Co.'sＭａｎａｇｉｎｇ Executive Officer Toshizumi Kato and Naotaka Takeshita, Senior General Manager of the Financial Service Business Development Section, who served as award-ceremony presenters.
The Yamaha team unfortunately failed to make a comeback to the victory stand, YMFA got off to a fine start by showcasing its financial service operations to the whole wide world.
