The Brazilian Motocross Championship started with Yamaha winning! The opening round was held in the city of Sorocaba, in the interior of São Paulo, between March 16th and 17th. The Yamaha Monster Energy Geração Team started the season winning in the main category with rider Paulo Alberto.

In the Race 1 of MX1, the Yamaha team riders, Fábio Santos and Paulo Alberto, were the first to arrive at the first corner, but ended up touching each other and losing the lead. Still, they raced at a strong pace and finished second, with Paulo Alberto, and third with Fábio Santos.

In the Race 2, Paulo Alberto started at the front and secured the “holeshot”, with Fábio Santos coming out right behind his teammate, in second position. The positions were maintained until the middle of the race, when Fábio Santos ended up losing second position, at the same time as Paulo Alberto increased his lead.

In the sum of the two heats, victory for Paulo Alberto, who leaves the opening round leading the championship and in the next round will have the leader's red number plate on his motorcycle. Current Brazilian champion Fábio Santos took third place.

The Yamaha Team riders resume their training routines, and the next official commitment will be on the 29th, 30th and 31st of March, for the Brazilian Supercross Championship. For the Brazilian Motocross Championship, riders will accelerate again on the 6th and 7th of April in Canelinha, Santa Catarina.
