Born March 1975. Rode in the 500cc class in the 1998 Japan GP on a Yamaha YZR500 and stepped onto the podium with a 3rd. In 2001, however, when he raced the full season, his best finish was a 4th place in the British GP500, and his overall ranking was no higher than 14th. Haga rode in the All Japan Superbike Championship with Yamaha, succeeding with a 14-kg shape-up prior to the 1996 season opening round, resulting in a better riding rhythm. Also in 1996, teamed with Colin Edwards to win the Suzuka 8 Hours. Dominated the 1996 All Japan Road Race Championship, and in 1997 raced in the World Superbike series. Popular for his dynamic riding style. Apart from forays into the 500cc class in 2001 (Yamaha) and the MotoGP in 2003 (Aprilia), was focused on the WSB for most of his riding career.
