Yamaha Motor to participate in the 5th Tokyo International Conference on African Development – Exhibits at the African Fair 2013, and a talk at the Africa Symposium –

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. will participate in the African Fair 2013 and the Africa Symposium, official events of the 5th Tokyo International Conference on African Development held in Yokohama in June. The two official events are hosted conjointly by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan External Trade Organization. Yamaha will exhibit motorcycles, outboard motors, and clean water systems (water filtration systems) in the Japanese Business Corner, and using panels and visual aids will introduce examples of Japanese products and services that contribute to sustainable economic growth of Africa.

In addition, Yamaha Motor's President and Representative Director Hiroyuki Yanagi is due to give a talk at the Africa Symposium, "New Trends in African Business - Harnessing the Dynamism of Africa and the Potential of Private Sectors towards its Development", on May 31.

Yamaha Motor has been active in developing the African market since introducing marine products such as outboard motors in the 1960s. Currently, Yamaha Motor has a sales network in all 51 African nations through partnerships with our local distributors. Yamaha Motor has been expanding business oriented toward locally-focused solutions, and carrying out sales and services for products including motorcycles, outboard motors, boats, generators, pumps, and all-terrain vehicles. The African market has high potential with its rapidly-increasing population and rising middle class, and Yamaha Motor recognizes the value of committing to this market, and aims to continue our aggressive business expansion.



Example of locally-focused solution

Outboard Motors : Development of products that can withstand harsh usage environments as well as contributing to the development of fisheries by producing publications that provide information on fishing and processing methods.
Motorcycles : Contributing to the transport of medical supplies to remote locations, as well as for the guard and escort of VIPs.
Clean Water Systems : The development of a water filtration system that converts river water to drinking water contributes to the improvement of the water supply situation, reduction of illnesses, and reduction of medical supplies required.

Exhibition Contents : African Booths: Domestic products from various countries, business information concerning resources, infrastructure, fields of investments, etc.
Japanese Business Booth: Japanese products, etc. with the potential to contribute to sustainable economic growth in Africa
